Accessibility statement

Everyone knows something that someone else needs to know, so this site should work for everyone.

Draft for legal review (version 0.2). This text is a working draft and is not in force. Details shown as “To be confirmed” will be added once they are confirmed in writing.

Our standard

We aim for knuence.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every text and interface colour pair is checked for contrast against WCAG 2.2.
  • The site can be used with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link is the first stop, and focus is always visible.
  • The mobile menu announces whether it is open, closes with Escape and returns focus to the menu button.
  • Form errors are listed in a summary, linked to each field and announced to assistive technology.
  • Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall on small screens.
  • Animation is limited to opacity and position, and stops completely if you have asked your device to reduce motion.

How we test

Each page is checked automatically with axe-core against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 (levels A and AA) at widths from 320 to 1440 pixels, together with scripted keyboard, focus, menu, form and reduced-motion tests. Text over the gradient K is measured against the rendered pixels behind it.

Known limitations

We have not yet tested the site with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver) or with every browser. We plan to complete that testing before launch.
