Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and the choices you have. Written in plain language.
Who we are
knuence.com is run by KNUENCE LTD (“KNUENCE”, “we”, “us”). KNUENCE LTD, registered in Scotland, company number SC905946. Registered office: 30 Avenel Road, Glasgow, G13 2NZ, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The controller of the personal data described in this notice is KNUENCE LTD. Correspondence address: [To be confirmed: business correspondence address].
For any privacy question or request, contact [To be confirmed: privacy email].
What this website collects today
- No cookies, analytics or tracking. The public site does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising tools, and does not store anything in your browser.
- Registration is not open. The founding KNUENCER form is a demonstration. It checks your answers in your browser and does not send or store anything.
- Technical data needed to deliver the site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so that it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
When founding KNUENCER registration opens
What we will collect
- the details you enter in the form: your full name, email address, country or region, field of expertise or interest, and whether you want to share knowledge, learn, or both;
- optionally, what you would like KNUENCE to help with and a LinkedIn profile or website;
- a record of your consent: the time you gave it, the exact wording you agreed to (version “founding-updates-v1”) and the version of this notice in force at the time;
- to protect the form from automated abuse, a check by Cloudflare Turnstile and a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address, kept for no more than 24 hours.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive information such as health details, political opinions or identity documents.
How we will use it, and our lawful basis
- To confirm your email address and register you, and to email you about founding membership and KNUENCE AI Studio. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To understand which fields our first members come from, using totals by country and area of expertise. This relies on the same consent.
- To keep the service secure and to keep records of consents, unsubscribes and privacy requests. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and showing that we respect your choices.
Before adding you, we will send an email asking you to confirm your address. If you do not confirm, your details are deleted after [To be confirmed: unconfirmed-registration retention period] days. We will not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you. Optional fields are optional: leaving them blank does not affect your registration.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run KNUENCE, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, the registration database, Turnstile abuse checks, and the sign-in that protects our administration area;
- [To be confirmed: email service provider]: sending confirmation and update emails.
Only a small number of authorised people can see registration details. Each must sign in with multi-factor authentication, and every action they take is logged.
Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we will rely on the safeguards required by data-protection law, such as approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed registrations: deleted after [To be confirmed: unconfirmed-registration retention period] days.
- Confirmed registrations: [To be confirmed: retention policy for confirmed registrations], or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- When you unsubscribe, we delete your name, email address and other details. We keep only a one-way hash of your email address, so that we never email you again, and a record that you withdrew consent.
- Security records (hashed IP addresses): no more than 24 hours.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. To use any other right, contact [To be confirmed: privacy email]. We will confirm the request comes from the owner of the email address before acting on it. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to [To be confirmed: data-protection supervisory authority].
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting provider. Confirmation and unsubscribe links use single-use or secret tokens that we store only in hashed form. Access to the administration area requires multi-factor sign-in, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.
Children
KNUENCE is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this notice
We will publish the final version of this notice before registration opens, and update it whenever our practices change. Each registration records the version that applied when consent was given.
